How to Play Othello
Objective: Have the most discs of your color on the board when the game ends.
Rules:
- Black moves first. Place a disc on an empty square that outflanks opponent discs.
- Outflanking means your disc creates a straight line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) with another of your discs, with opponent discs in between.
- All outflanked opponent discs are flipped to your color.
- If you cannot make a valid move, you pass and your opponent goes again.
- The game ends when neither player can move. The player with the most discs wins.
