🌉 Bridge Builder
Objective: Build a bridge that spans the gap and supports the required weight without collapsing, while staying within budget.
Controls:
- Click on empty space to place a node (anchor point)
- Click on one node, then click on another node to connect them with a beam
- Select a material (Wood, Steel, Cable) before placing beams
- Click and drag existing nodes to reposition them (green anchor nodes are fixed)
- Select Remove mode and click a beam to delete it
- Press Test to apply load to the bridge and see if it holds
- Reset to clear the current bridge and start over
- Select level numbers to change challenge
- Touch: tap to place, drag to move nodes
Rules: Your bridge must span from the left anchor to the right anchor. The load is applied to the center of the bridge. If the bridge supports the load for 3 seconds, you pass! Wood is cheap but weak. Steel is strong but expensive. Cable is light but stretches. Plan your truss design carefully and stay under budget.
Materials: Wood: strength 100, cost $10/m, elastic. Steel: strength 300, cost $25/m, rigid. Cable: strength 150, cost $15/m, stretches 20%.
